Dragon's First Day in Antarctica

Our intrepid explorer, Dragon, flew to Antarctica yesterday.

He was able to visit the cockpit of the C17 aircraft.

Dragon is now in Antarctica, participating in field training.

Our field trip teacher, Shelley, is also keeping a diary of events of her time in Antarctica.

Mokihi Opening Celebrations

What a wonderful day it was on Monday with all the excited children and parents looking through our new space.
A huge thank you to all the parents for their willing help over the weekend.
All the Mokihi teachers have worked so hard over the weekend to make the spaces look so fantastic for learning!
We had a 'cutting the ribbon ceremony' on Monday after assembly with Jake Hutana and Sofia Daly doing the honours as they are the youngest in the school, assisted by Mrs Worner and Bruce Radburn the project manager.

On Thursday the New Entrant class enjoyed 'Stepping Back in Time' at Ferrymead Heritage Park. They dressed in the costumes that children may have worn many years ago and played lots of indoor and outdoor games.

Maths Measuring

The day was so beautiful - just perfect for measuring.
We found out the heights of a bear, giraffe, leopard, elephant and a bat.
It is amazing to see them all measured out on the court.
